The discovery that language can be a barrier to communication is quickly made by all who travel, study, govern or sell. Whether the activity is tourism, research, government, policing, business, or data dissemination, the lack of a common language can severely impede progress and can halt it altogether. Cambridge Encyclopaedia of Languages OUR STORY European Language Services is a South African company offering a wide range of professional translation services in European languages. Our company was established in Pretoria in January 1995, gradually extending its reach first to Johannesburg and then to the rest of South Africa and abroad, as more and more leading South African and international businesses and organisations chose to entrust their language-related needs to us. Fast forward two decades of unrelenting focus, hard work and unwavering dedication to what we do and today European Language Services has evolved into a leading translation bureau with a solid reputation for service excellence, quality, reliability and efficiency, which, in turn, has translated into some very real benefits for our clients: our extensive customer base and a large number of challenging projects always on the go at any given moment in time allow us to attract and retain the very best language professionals, while keep ing our rates very competitive.

Our team consists of qualified and experienced translators from a variety of professional and cultural backgrounds, making it possible to choose the most suitable translator for the task at hand. Poorly executed translations can be worse than no translation at all. Not only do they waste your money, they can cause serious damage to your image, reputation and success in other countries and even locally. That is why our in-house team of experienced project managers closely monitors all projects from beginning to end, in order t o ensure that deadlines are always met and that every translation leaving these offices is one hundred percent accurate from a linguistic, technical and cultural point of view.

We are able to provide you with translations of scientific, technical, financial, marketing, advertising, legal, medical, pharmaceutical, academic and educational texts, as well as foreign correspondence, tender documents, contracts, patents, manuals and websites from/into a variety of European languages, combining a sophisticated service organisation with professional language skills. Alternatively, you could simply send us your document(s) by email for a firm, all-inclusive, no-obligation quotation for the entire project. Will my documents be treated as confidential? We take confidentiality and security issues very seriously. Every single document we receive from our clients is treated as confidential as a matter of company policy. However, if you feel that you have special requirements in this area, we will be more than happy to sign a legally binding non-disclosure agreement (available from our offices). How long will it take to translate my documents? Each translator on our team can handle approximately 2000 words per working day. However, this figure is greatly affected by the nature and layout of the source document as well as by the amount of research that needs to be done.
